There’s more fun to be had here on Pursuing Pretty this Calgary Stampede! I’ve gotten caught up in dressing the part and can’t help but share another look with you. I’m in love with this vintage inspired outfit featuring suede, leather and fringe details. You’ll never guess what year this dress was made…read on to find out!
Stampede Outfit Ideas
If you didn’t catch my first outfit post then make sure to go and check it out too! I’ve been proactive this year and tried to get you inspired with some cute Stampede outfit ideas so that you could shop ahead of time. Now this brown suede fringe dress is my all-time favourite. I wish I could share an online link with you but it’s authentically vintage! It was actually my mother-in-laws dress that she wore to prom in the year 1968. Can you believe it? I was over the moon when she gave it to me almost 10 years ago and I make a point to wear it to an event, every single Stampede. This year I decided it was time to get a pair of boots that matched!
These Boots Were Made for Walking
I added a new pair of boots to my roster this June. I went all out with these Lane Diamond Dust Vintage Cowboy Boots from Lammle’s. Turquoise is one the best accent colours to wear with any western-type attire. I got so many compliments when I wore these to the kick-off Parade and I can’t wait to wear them again this week. The quality is beautiful and they are actually so comfortable (that’s when you know you’ve bought a good boot!). For next year, I’ve got my eye on their Hoedown Shortie Cowboy boot!
Changing My Tune
Since having kids, I haven’t exactly loved the Calgary Stampede. Mostly because my husband always got invited to corporate events and I’d be stuck single-parenting for ten days. No fun! Since I’ve become a local influencer, I now get invited to a lot of my own share of cool events. Now that my kids are old enough, they can also enjoy heading down to the Midway and checking out the animals, ride a few rides and play a couple carnival games. I love the atmosphere on the grounds and really get into the music, the food and the rodeos. It’s safe to say that I am fully embracing it this year! Make sure to follow along on my Instagram Stories so you don’t miss all of the cool things I’m up to!
