Have you been watching Yellowstone on Prime Video? This television show starring Kevin Costner will make you want to sell your house and buy a ranch in the very first episode. It will at least get you inspired to adopt some cute cowgirl chic style into your spring wardrobe. You don’t have to live on a farm to wear some of these cute country-inspired pieces! Pick and choose a few of these great combinations and add runners or ankle boots if you aren’t ready for real cowboy boots yet. This trend is becoming quickly popular and I’m ready to help fuel the fire!
This is the first time that I’ve ordered from Shein in a few years but I wanted to give this online site another chance. I will say that I was really impressed with everything that I ordered this time around and have featured here in this blog post. Their sizing has become more accurate and “true-to-size” for North American body types and now they even offer plus sizes! The quality has also improved but I always recommend checking out the reviews and photos that other customers have posted before purchasing.
And now for my favourite outfit: the cream turtleneck sweater dress has been a major trend for the past few months. I paired this one with an extra layer of warmth in this plaid “shacket”. What the heck is a “shacket”, you might ask? It’s a cross between a shirt and a jacket! This over-sized plaid version from Shein is one of my favourite things that I bought this season. I’m wearing a small size and there is plenty of room, yet long enough to wear as a cardigan or tunic.

Let’s switch gears with some colour! The turquoise in this lace maxi dress is a stunner. It was a little too cold for short sleeves in Calgary so I added this Mexican blanket known as a “serape” for some extra warmth and complementary colour. I can’t wait to wear this dress to the Calgary Stampede this summer! Add some dimension to any dress with a belt, like this rattan square buckle for only $10.
The Canadian Tuxedo
Yeehaw! The “Canadian Tuxedo” is affectionately known for wearing a denim shirt with denim jeans. Double denim! Try mixing different tones of blue like I’ve done here. You’ve probably noticed that I love this hat! At $59 it’s such a good purchase and can be worn to complement any outfit during any season. Here is another great look to incorporate this shacket into again, it’s pretty versatile!
The Rodeo Princess
Here is a really feminine twist on the typical cowgirl. This mixed textured western blouse would look great tucked into a pair of jeans or a tulle skirt. I modernized the look by wearing neutral ankle boots but you could also wear a great pair of white sneakers.
So tell me, which outfit is your favourite?
