I started this blog about a year and a half ago because I wanted to inspire other stay-at-home moms to not give in to the “mom-rut”. As moms, we are unanimously tired. There’s barely enough time to drink a cup of coffee and scarf down a piece of toast in the mornings, let alone time to shower, get dressed, do your hair and put on make-up. I’ve been waiting almost a year to be able to share photos of the time that my son and I spent on set, filming AMC’s Hell On Wheels. So with the final few episodes now airing and Cooper’s big debut revealed, I’m excited to finally share some stories and photos from our amazing experience.

I’ve always liked a good gin and tonic. Usually, I stay away from high ball drinks, as I seem to enjoy wine in my old age, but I always make an exception for this cocktail. Today, I’m showing a new twist on this old classic.
I first tried this drink at my book club last month and I was immediately hooked. It was like nothing I’d tasted before but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was. The secret ingredient: St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur. It has a distinct sweet smell very similar to lychee, but it is made from elderflower: a small, white starry flower that blooms through the spring and summer. You can find it at almost any liquor store but be prepared to spend a little extra on this special bottle.
