BUMP Project in Calgary - Instagrammable Walls

You may have noticed a bunch of new murals popped up in Calgary in the past month! It’s part of BUMP, Beltline Urban Mural Project. I had to go and check them all out last weekend so I could find the most Instagrammable ones of the bunch! Here are my three favourites, along with some fall fashion inspiration!

Pretty Geometry

My friend Jenni texted me about the BUMP murals going up around Calgary a few weeks ago so I convinced her to do a ride along with me to check them out! I love how Calgary is really embracing the arts and allowing so many artists to leave their mark on the city.

My favourite of all the murals has to be this geometric pattern located on the wall of Samuels’ Camera Store. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know that these colours are my jam and fit perfectly in my feed. When you’re looking to head out to visit these places in the Beltline, I highly encourage waiting until after work hours or the weekend. As with this mural, I had a hard time getting a full-framed shot because there were cars parked directly in front of the wall. This was the case in almost every wall we visited so be prepared for that!

If you buy one new item this fall, go for ruffle waisted pants! In my opinion, it’s the prettiest trend for fall. The high waist compliments any mid-section and the ruffle gives such a feminine touch. My outfit is top to bottom from Winners.

Abstract Art

If you’re walking along 17th Avenue, this huge colourful mural will be hard to miss! Boasting hues of blue, red and yellow make it a great place for your Instagram photos. I’m pairing one of my favourite jean jackets over a striped romper from Winners.

Cowboy Boots

There are two new pairs of cowboy boots celebrating out Stampede Heritage off 17th Avenue. But unfortunately, these walls are almost completely unusable. The parking lot owners ruined the walls by places giant parking signs right smack in the middle of both murals. I was so disappointed! So if you’re crafty with your camera, you can kind of cut it out and get half a boot!

Bugs Buzz

I ran out of outfits so I’ll be back to snap this one later! This giant insect mural takes up almost the entire block near Community Natural Foods. Are they flies or bees? You decide!
