A new year calls for a new outfit, new boots and a new Instagram-worthy wall in Calgary. Casual style has been trending high lately and I’ve found a few amazing deals that I can’t wait to share with you, including these over-the-knee boots for only $49!

I have been looking for a pair of grey over-the-knee (a.k.a. OTK) boots for quite some time now. I have a little bit of trouble because I have skinny chicken legs and over the knee boots rarely stay up over my thighs. They always end up falling down and causing me to look more like a pirate. During some Boxing Day shopping, I found this amazing Sam Edelman pair at Little Burgundy. They were such a steal at only $49! The boots are very structured instead of the usual loose fabric kind so I find they stay up really well. However, they do have a tight fit so you may want to try them on in-store before purchasing if you have larger calves.
Wearing OTK boots over skinny jeans have become increasingly popular too among fashionistas. I love this cropped white knit sweater and cozy basket-weave scarf. Allowing long scarves to hang, instead of wrapping them around your neck is the new way to wear them! Obviously, it’s not using this accessory to its neck-warming potential but it does draw attention from the top to the bottom of your outfit.

You won’t be able to miss this while we’re driving on Centre Street in Crescent Heights, Calgary. Its vibrant colours take up the entire side of the apartment building and business location. Head there during the weekends to ensure that there won’t be an annoyingly placed car blocking your photo opportunity! Shoot for a cloudy day as the building is south facing and lined with trees which makes for really weird shadows on a sunny day.
