CURLS CURLS CURLS!
My step-by-step tutorial on how to get beautiful full bodied curls that last for days.
But first the fashion. I went on a little splurge last week and ordered this Trellis necklace from Stella & Dot. The pretty pastel jewels are absolutely stunning! The matching Eva Ear Jackets are right on this season’s trend. A simple stud on the front and hanging sparkly “jacket” that attaches from the back. This combination is a must-have! I love them with this always classic Portofino Shirt from Express. Adding a statement necklace is a great way to dress up your everyday style. To finish it off, I added one of my new fave matte lip balms from Revlon in “Elusive”. You can’t go wrong with any colours in this line and they are so easy to apply. Check them out next time you are at the drugstore!
HOW TO GET BEAUTIFUL CURLS
Like my mom, I’ve always been fan of curls. My hair is stick-straight and pretty thin so this style helps add body and thickness to my boring locks. The best part is that you don’t need a fancy curling iron/wand to do this! I am using my 7 year-old Conair 1″ barrel. 🙂 Here we go!
Part hair evenly on one side and blow dry. Curling your hair works best on clean,
freshly washed hair. This style may take
some extra time but it last for 2-3 days!
You be working on a separate section of your
hair at a time in this order: bottom, middle and top.
Start with the bottom section (loosely hold up
the other sections out of the way with a clip or hair tie). Wrap 1” sections of hair around a 1” curling
iron from the TOP DOWN. This is key! Watch your fingers, you may need to hold
the bottom strand of your hair while curling. Hold hair for 15-20 seconds and
release. I like to make each curl going away from my
Continue around and then proceed to middle and
If curls are too defined, lightly finger comb
through. Scrunch your curls with a
handful of mousse (see photo below) and then hair spray all over.
Flip your head over to spray underneath.
To keep this style looking fresh, add a little
mousse and hair spray or dry shampoo when you wake up to freshen your look! Voila!!
