Fornite Party Ideas
If your children are like the majority of North America, then they may have caught the Fortnite addiction. It’s a cult trend that isn’t going away and more and more paraphernalia is popping up all over the internet. My son was adamant about hosting a Fortnite party for his 8th birthday this winter. He has also found a love of the American Ninja Warrior television show so we wanted to combine them together to make the ultimate party!
InjaNation
Located in Northeast Calgary, InjaNation is a locally-owned indoor playground that combines a trampoline park and harnessed climbing with parkour obstacle courses. It’s really a facility that both children AND adults can enjoy as it’s for all ages and abilities. Grip socks are provided with party packages and running shoes can be worn to do the ninja warrior courses. There’s nothing else like it in Calgary! And from a mom’s perspective, it’s a very clean facility with lots of educated staff on hand at all times. Both of my boys love it and we’ve been visiting InjaNation safely for years.
When I communicated the idea of a Fortnite birthday to their planning staff, they eagerly jumped on the chance to create the most memorable birthday for Harper. Whether you’re planning a birthday party or team-building party, Injanation takes care of a lot of the stressors. Your party attendees run, play, and burn a ton of energy for a couple of hours then relax in the huge party room and fuel up with food!
InjaNation Parties
Party rooms are a great “home base” for your guests. Food can be pre-ordered and delivered to your party room. Plates, napkins, cutlery, and bottles of soda are included in your room. You can also bring in outside food if needed. If you need to accommodate more people than the garage door can be lifted to join rooms. The secluded party rooms can be decorated however you’d like, whether you bring your own decorations or choose to let InjaNation help! I wanted to create something over-the-top for Harper and InjaNation reached out to some amazing local businesses to help take care of the décor and cake. They even included a Playstation in the room, where kids could come, have a little time out and actually PLAY FORTNITE! They thought that was the coolest thing ever.

Fortnite Cake
Harper’s vision for a Loot Llama Fortnite cake easily took shape in the creative abilities of Maryam from Cakery Bakery. My baking abilities are pretty limited when it comes to creating something beautiful AND edible so I was happy to outsource this job to a professional. Maryam is a boss babe who is a cake designer and event planner. Her talent is so evident as soon as you see her cupcakes, cookies, and cake pops. We were all blown away by the intricate details of the fondant cake icing on Harper’s Fortnite cake. There were trees, medipacks, rocks, loot chests, chug jugs, and the coolest Llama. Balloon Garlands
Colourful arches of balloons add instant party appeal and Instagrammable décor! Inflated Dreams of Calgary, did a fabulous job of creating Harper themed decorations. Daniela and Luis are an incredibly cool husband and wife duo who are changing the game on balloon decorations by actually creating themed “art pieces”. Two garlands were installed, one with Injanation colours of red, black, and white, and the other to represent Fortnite in purple, black, silver and teal. Inflated Dreams can provide balloons for any occasion, please check them out on their website or Instagram. It looked so good that people kept peeking into our suite! We felt like VIP guests.
Loot Bags
I searched around a little for some Loot bag ideas. I didn’t want to pay a fortune of official Fortnite and since I’m pretty crafty, I thought that I could make my own! These Loot Drop bags looked great and came together easily with blue bags and yellow balloons from the dollar store. Opting for a Helium-filled balloon looks even better but I didn’t feel that it was cost-effective. Instead, I just tied the yellow balloons through a hole punch at the top of the bags. Loot drop!
