How To Host The Ultimate Junos Viewing Party
We all know what every Canadian is doing this Sunday, tuning into their TV to watch The Junos. With a high-profile event like The Junos, it’s always a good idea to “go big or go home”. Hosting the ultimate Junos viewing party is an excellent way to grab a few of your closest girlfriends together to celebrate the Canadian music industry. I’m so honoured to be their chosen Official Influencer this weekend and can’t wait to show you more of what I got up to on a later post this week.
Outfit
The first step is to look the part. You may not be walking the red carpet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look like an A-list celebrity. You can have fun with this! Amber and I decided that we didn’t need to get too dressed up and loved the idea of staying comfy in a t-shirt but adding a pretty tulle tutu. Get your guests in the mood by setting a common theme around what to wear!

Beauty
If you’re feeling fancy and really want to get dolled-up, why not get your makeup professionally done! It’s a real treat and a sure way to feel ultra-glam. Sam from Samantha Blatnicky Makeup & Lash Artist has over 15 years in the makeup industry and can create anything from a wearable neutral look to a colourful and playful look, to a full-on glam effect with ease. Whether you decide to go to her or have her into your home, you’re guaranteed a makeup look you’ll remember forever.
No party would be complete without Junos Award ballot cards. Have your guests complete their cards while enjoying appetizers, sipping on some bubbly and watching the red-carpet arrivals. Make sure to list all the nominees in each category on the cards and have your pens ready to go.
Cocktails
Having a well-stocked bar is always a good idea when hosting a party. While a full-service bar might be ideal in theory, you want something quick and easy at a viewing party. You don’t want your guests spending too much time mixing up fancy cocktails, instead, you want their attention to be on the TV. Make it easy by choosing a signature drink, or better yet, a little bubbly.

Food
Snacks and sweets complete the party. There’s no need to offer a full dinner but having some delicious sweets on hand is always a good idea. LV Sweets bakes everything to order, with fresh ingredients, and creates masterpieces when it comes to baking. She’s the mastermind behind these cupcakes, macarons and meringue kisses that are sure to crave anyone’s sweet tooth. And how amazing is this charcuterie board from Grazing Hill? Your guests will love trying out all these delicacies and flavours included in this beautiful platter!
Decorations
While you don’t need to go crazy on the décor, adding a few sparkly touches can make the world of a difference. Since you’ll all be dressed and dolled up, having a focal point where you can snap a few pics will be the finishing touches on your party. Melissa from Party Girls Co is the queen of modern-day parties and goes all out. Her balloon installations will be the focal point of the party, but it’s the personalized detail she adds to each party that makes it one-of-a-kind and unique.
The setting is key. Since you’ll all be gathered around the TV, make sure you have plenty of seating available. Make good use of pillows and throw blankets, as you want your guests to be relaxed and comfortable.

Cheers friends!
