Have you been wanting to redecorate but lacking the drive and inspiration? That was me over the past year, my master bedroom desperately needed a makeover but I didn’t have the time to get started. So this winter break, my husband and I set to work and gave our bedroom a major facelift with some pretty paint and wallpaper at a total cost of $150. The best part is that we did it over one weekend! Check out how:
Vlog!
I wanted to make this “vlog” (video blog) to show you how easy it can be to transform your room in one weekend, without spending much money. I’m hoping to show this transformation in two parts: one being the paint and wallpaper and two being the accessories and decor. So welcome to part one!
I’m not going to write too much this week as everything is explained in the video below. This Youtube video will take you through how to choose a paint colour and how to wallpaper!
Master Bedroom Makeover
Paint and Wallpaper
My whole bedroom was inspired by this wallpaper from Bouclair. As you will see in the video, I wanted to go with a warm grey colour, so I chose this Behr paint from Home Depot called Silver Marlin. It was two really simple things that totally transformed this space.
I can’t wait to start the second part where I will continue decorating with accessories! I’ve been give some sneak peaks on my Instagram Stories and Facebook Page so make sure to follow along! And make sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel so you won’t miss phase 2!
Let me know what you think!
That’s so beautiful, such a relaxing theme!
Thanks Livi! It really is. xoxo
It is looking so good! And you did it so good with that amount of $! I am always scared of makeovers because I tend to go over board haha.
I know so easy to splurge because furniture isn’t cheap!!!
I love your headboard! I’m always wanting to redecorate things, it drives my husband crazy! We have a mostly white master now and I like it! Hopefully I won’t change my mind soon!
Love all white rooms!!! So gorgeous. One day I will have a white bed, I just have to wait for my kids to grow up and stop coming in our bed with snacks!lol
That wallpaper is so neat. Such a great transformation. Excited to see Part 2. 😉
Thanks so much Dawn!!
I really love how your master bedroom turned out! That wallpaper is beautiful and I can’t wait to see the rest of the makeover. 🙂
I’ve been looking to update my office space with wallpaper and I’ll have to admit that I’m a little intimidated, but this video definitely convinces me to just go for it.
Oh yay!!! If you take the plunge, send me photos or maybe you could make it a blog post!!!
I love how you redecorated your master bedroom! So elegant and cozy! I love that wallpaper.

Thanks Ellie!! The wallpaper totally makes the room.
OH girl that wallpaper!!!!! I am obsessed. I have been trying to convince my husband to let me do something similar with no luck. Maybe in our next home 🙂
Maybe you;ll have to show him my video to convince him since I forced my hubby into helping me! lol
I love the wallpaper. We have an outdoorsy guest room that this would look great in. xo ~ Megan
It would be gorgeous! And really, not too hard to do especially if there aren’t any windows to cut around!
I love the wallpaper. How many rolls in total to do your wall?? Thank you. I am @mamalangs5 on Instagram ?
Hi Alayne!! This wall was 2 rolls(we used every inch!). I ended up buying three to start because I wasn’t sure how much we would use.
Love the pops of colour. We still need to do our master. Been in the home for almost 5 years.
I plan on doing a budget-friendly bedroom update soon too. So fun to watch and your bedroom is looking great. Looking forward to seeing the next part!
