Hello affordable, beautiful makeup! As you know, I love a good deal and I think that there are so many fantastic drugstore makeup products that you can use for your everyday look! My makeup routine consists religiously of these products and because you asked, I’m now sharing them with you! Here is a list of my favourite drugstore makeup and why you’ll love these products!
Eyeshadow
Catrice BAE Eyeshadow Palettes
Over the years, I’ve been a bit of an eyeshadow snob. I never gave drug-store brands much time of day because of their lack of good colours and quality pigment. Catrice has come out with three eyeshadows that I absolutely love. For colour palettes, I personally love both the Basic Bae palette in brown tones and the Self-Made Bae palette in purple tones. For the price of $16, you can splurge and get both!
Primer
e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Face Primer
After applying your morning moisturizer, don’t forget to give yourself the perfect base with a primer. This one from e.l.f. Cosmetics is $8 and will give you a perfect matte finish. Primers absorb access oil, minimizes pores, and helps your makeup last all day. It’s a must for creating a flawless foundation look!
Foundation
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
So many beauty bloggers rave about this foundation! It has great medium coverage and is easily blended when using a beauty blending sponge. If you sweat a lot or have oily skin, try the Pro-Matte foundation. If you need even more coverage, try the Infallible Total Coverage Foundation. There are lots of options here!
Concealer
For colour matching purposes, I like to keep my concealer and my foundation from the same brand. It boasts lasting coverage of up to 16 hours. I apply this after my foundation, under my eyes, around my nose, and on any blemishes.
Mascara
How much money have you spent on mascara over the years? There are so many expensive brands out there but I’m not into shelling out $30, when there are a few great ones for $4-$6! The iconic pink and green packaging of the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is a staple in my makeup bag. It debuted in 1971, and there’s a reason it’s still on the market! It has great coverage and lasts all day, without flaking or smudging.
Brows
This is my go-to brow liner because I love the Universal Taupe shade. It is a perfect colour for blondes! Use the back of the pencil to brush up your eyebrows, then the pencil end to fill.
Next step, using the brow fiber gel, brush upwards into your brows to keep them in shape and add thickness. I love these two products together for creating a thicker, fuller, long-lasting brow!
Eyeliner
Rimmel London Exaggerate Felt Tip Eyeliner
If you’re going for lid liner, it has to be liquid! Rimmel’s Felt Tip Liner is long-lasting, smudge-proof but easy to remove. I have been buying this one for years and I like how the paint is contained in the pot and not in the pen, like some others.
Blush
“Baked” blush is my absolute favourite kind of colour for your cheeks. The pigment is rich and includes a beautiful shimmer. This one from NYX comes in a few colours. Sweep this on your cheekbones as one of the final steps to completing your makeup!
Lip Gloss
I’ve become quite obsessed with this lip gloss from Milani. It is totally a bougie gloss at an affordable price. The bold colours are gorgeous but subtle because it is a gloss and not a lipstick. It is vegan and cruelty-free plus packs lots of shine. You’ll love it!
Lipstick
If you’re looking for a lippie that lasts all day, has lots of pretty pigment, and won’t smudge off then, you want to try Pixi’s MatteLast Liquid Lip. Pastel Petal, Real Red, and Prettiest Pink are my go-to favourites for neutral or bold colours!
