Spring is upon us but since Calgary is such a late bloomer, it’s hard to fully commit to putting away your winter clothes. You never know when another snowfall could be around the corner! I’m showing you how to buy your favourite spring dress now and wear it two different ways while you transition from winter to spring temperatures!
A long winter shouldn’t stop you from getting excited about sandals, shorts and spring dresses! Today, I’m showing you my new favourite spring dress worn two ways! This muted floral maxi dress is the perfect piece to wear right now and in a couple of months from now as the temperatures increase for good.
Winter to Spring Transition
For the first look, I’ve paired my favourite camel belted trench that you saw me wearing A LOT this year. It was the best money I spent on a coat last fall! Dark aviators complimented this more casual outfit. I picked up these cut-out booties in camel from Target on my last trip to Phoenix. They have been such a great purchase and are so comfortable to wear for hours at a time!
Online Shopping Tricks
I wanted to share with you some of my secret online shopping tips! You can still order online from Target to Canada but shipping and duties can be PRICEY! Sharing an order with a friend may help you divert some of those charges. Or make the most of your next trip to the US by scoping out a wish list online and then cross-referencing to see if it will be in-stock at the store nearest to you. Sometimes, I even order and have items shipped to my hotel before I arrive. Did you know that you can do this pretty much anywhere you stay?! I love doing this, especially on family trips when I know that I may not get a lot of time to shop while I’m there. Plus online shopping is so much easier to navigate and you often get a much better selection of items or sizing that the stores don’t carry.
Spring to Summer Transition
For my second option, I changed this look to embrace the sunshine. These new DSW sandals, that were waiting for me at my hotel in Phoenix when I arrived. They come in 4 different colours and are very comfortable to wear because of the low wedge heel. I brought out my classic sun hat and cat eye sunglasses to accessorize for warmer temperatures. This dress does have a second layered tier so that you have maximum coverage but still gives you that flowy look!
