Motivation is the number one thing that keeps me from meeting my daily fitness goals. You are only accountable to yourself and sometimes you need a little reminder to keep you on track! I received a Fitbit Charge 3 a few weeks ago and I’ve been so impressed with it that I wanted to share with you all of the cool features that it has plus how I’ve been using it to increase my daily activity!

Taking Charge of Your Health
Now that my kids are almost out of school for the summer, I won’t be able to get to the gym as much as I’d like. I’ve been searching for ways to still include fitness into my daily routine so that I don’t regress and get lazy! I received the newest Fitbit a few weeks ago: The Fitbit Charge 3, and I’m just so impressed by all of its features. It’s SO much more than a step counter, you can use this watch to keep track of your overall health and fitness goals. It’s like having a little personal trainer attached to your wrist. A constant reminder to keep yourself moving!
Now I make a conscious effort to increase my steps and exercise by doing little things like taking the stairs or taking the dog for an extra walk. If you are a runner like me, then you will LOVE how you can set time and distance goals. It’s so handy to use and check your pace and progress!
Customize your Fitbit Charge 3 with different bands and styles. The bands are easily interchangeable! Plus the battery charge lasts up to 7 days so it won’t interfere with your daily goals.
Fitbit App
The Fitbit is no longer just about counting steps, it’s about keeping track of your overall health. Sync your Fitbit through Bluetooth to the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet and get detailed data about your physical habits. You can personalize fitness, sleep, and exercise goals. Want to make a point to start drinking more water? How about track your fertility window? You can keep track of this here too! The first thing I do every morning before I get out of bed is check how I slept the night before. I’m obsessed!
Store before and after photos of yourself to see your fitness progress right in the app. Add friends and challenge them to weekly step-offs! Your Fitbit and app will be watching your progress and keeping you motivated with each small win, whether it be a badge, a trophy or an encouraging message.

Family Fitbit Feuds
For the past couple of years, I’ve listened to my mother-in-law talk say “I have to get my 10,000 steps in today!” but I never really understood it until I got my Fitbit Charge 3. Both of my boys (ages 5 and 7) have a Fitbit Ace and they are OBSESSED with their daily step goals. Through the app, we can set up weekly challenges to see who accumulates the most steps! They get super competitive and it really motivates all of us to go that extra mile, literally. I love how this brings our family together and teaches my kids at a young age to be conscious of their physical activity. This is a priceless lesson for children today!
Cons
So far the only cons that I have found are that it has a slight inaccuracy with flights of stairs and steps. I am up and down all day in my home and many of those don’t register. I believe this is more suited for your changes in elevation as you are running. Also, when biking it does not count steps but can track your heart rate and distance, earning you exercise recognition. Arm movement can also count as steps so your final daily step count will most likely be higher than the steps that you actually took. But in saying that, I still think this is the best Fitbit on the market and definitely worth the purchase!
