The Kananaskis Nordic Spa at the Mountain Lodge has been completely renovated and is ready to take you in to relax, rest, and rejuvenate. Get a special sneak peek at the beauty of this property as cameras are never allowed into the spa, although mine was for a special media event! Read on how to make this getaway happen for yourself this fall.
Kananaskis Mountain Lodge
I’d been hearing a lot of buzz about the newly renovated Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge but haven’t had a proper chance to visit. You probably remember it was the previously a Delta hotel but you definitely would not recognize it anymore. The change is absolutely jaw-dropping and nothing but beautiful. The Lodge plays off the rustic feels of the Rocky Mountains but makes you want to stay inside and cozy up. It’s only a 45-minute drive from Calgary, making it easily accessible for even a stay-cation or a day visit.
Learn more about the area of Kananaskis in my previous post on Barrier Lake, Alberta. You won’t want to miss this spot!
Kananaskis Nordic Spa
This little mid-week retreat was exactly what I needed. Typically, phones and cameras are strictly prohibited but thankfully the Spa allowed media to capture the beauty of our mountain spa day. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the setting. Multiple pools and saunas are nestled into the valley, surrounded by tall pine trees for an added feeling of privacy. You could spend all day lounging here! And you can too as the on-site Two Trees Bistro is happy to welcome you in your robe and slippers. Enjoy a warm latte, a glass of wine and a menu of yummy eats including charcuterie, salads, and sandwiches.
Hydrotherapy
Slip into your warm tartan robe, step outside and experience the benefits of hydrotherapy. It is a series of hot, warm and cold plunge pools. And be fairly warned, the cold one is COLD!!! There are also three types of saunas: Barrel Sauna, Banya Sauna, and Finnish Sauna. Each entrant is also given a container of salt scrubs infused with aromatherapy oils to use in the Exfoliation Cabin. Learn even more about each pool and sauna benefits here.
How to Access the Nordic Spa
Check out the Stay and Spa package that includes a stay at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge and entry into the Kananasiks Nordic Spa for 2 adults. If you’re looking to check out the spa without staying overnight, then make sure to check out their daily waitlist. Day access is $85 per person and I think that is well worth it for the quality of experience you’re receiving in return. The spa also offers a variety of massage treatments that include access to the pools. I’m already planning a future girl’s trip, let me know if you’re interested in joining!
Love,
Kiki
