WINTER FASHION! My style has definitely changed since the beginning of COVID. With more people staying at home there’s been a focus on cozy and comfort in clothing. You’re going to love all of these soft textures to wear! I’ve curated a few of my favourites so that you can mix and match the styles together as a mini wardrobe capsule. Here is what you should be wearing this winter:
Please excuse the visual mess of this post as I’ve just combined some of the photos that I’ve taken in the last month! These are new outfits that I’ve captured around Calgary and in the mountains. You’ve been going so crazy for them in my Instagram stories that I figured I would link everything in a blog post!
This winter, fashion is focused on textures. From furry sherpas, to soft fleece to sleek faux-leather leggings, rough mesh, and felt hats. Don’t be afraid to mix these together to form the perfect outfit! I’ve framed this as a wardrobe capsule for the winter season!
Faux-Leather Leggings
These fleece-lined leggings will be keeping you warm and chic this winter! This high-waisted pair from Joe fresh is only $29! they’ve been selling like crazy! If you can’t find the black leggings online, then check them out in store for more stock. Since things are a little different this year and you can’t try things on, you should note that they fit true-to-size or size up for a more higher-waisted look. They come in black, brown, grey, burgundy, and olive, so get yourself a couple of different colours!
Fleece and Sherpa Fabrics!
Abercrombie did something right this year with their new sherpa and fleece pullovers! They’ve easily been some of the most popular items seen on bloggers on Instagram this season. There’s good reason for it as you won’t find anything more comfortable to pull on. They went on sale last month at half price so I stocked up on a few different colours. The asymmetrical buttons can be worn buttoned up for a more turtleneck look or open on cooler days. I also bought this fuzzy pullover sherpa and it is the warmest thing in my closet right now!
You can never go wrong with leopard! It’s back each season and never seems to risk going out of style! You’ll love the length of this long cardigan. I’ve been wearing it as a fall coat or layering it over a tank top or T-shirt.
Combat Boots
Combat boots have made a major come back this year! Do you wish you’d saved your Doc Martens from high school? They are bigger than ever and in multiple styles and finishes. I went with the soft leather from Doc Martens instead of the classic, rigid style. They are edgy, stylish, but also practical to wear during the winter months! Lace them up or leave them open. Wear them with leggings, jeans, or even skirts!
Mesh
I feel like I have to include at least one dressier outfit for you! If you do have somewhere to go and want to look chic, try something mesh! I love the texture of this tulle skirt with the flower overlays. The mesh on my bubble sleeves from this knit top compliment the look without being too much. Here’s a fancy look that would look great with those combat boots!
Felt Fedoras
Urban Outfitters Felt Fedora is the perfect dupe to the coveted and expensive Lack of Colour hat. The $59 price tag is a huge save compared to the $140 plus outrageous shipping costs from the Australian brand. This felt fedora comes in some great neutral colours and is a great addition to any outfit whether it be dressy or casual. Which one is your favourite?
